Though it lags far behind its bigger classmates such as telecommunications or banking, the $225 billion education industry is learning its M&A lessons and starting to make the grade. While the majority of deals are in the post-secondary market, where 16 publicly traded companies vie for $2 billion worth of annual revenue, activity has been increasing at the grade school level.
