With a strong push from the distressed securities sector, U.S. hedge funds beat the S&P 500 for the month of April, according to Van Hedge Fund Advisors (VHFA). Distressed securities had a stellar month, jumping 6.1%, nearly double the 3.1% gain they showed in the first quarter.
