Deere Co. is in talks with an unidentified bidder for its Homelite business. The $10 billion market cap company anticipates wrapping up the divestiture by the end of October, and with such a tight time frame, one analyst said the sale is not to a top competitor. “They’re not anticipating regulatory hurdles,” said Michael Harris, an analyst with Deutsche Bank, which means a buyer will not come from primary competitors such as Sears, Roebuck & Co. or Sweden’s Electrolux AB.
