In the wake of the court telling Tyson Foods Inc. it did not have sufficient reason to abandon its takeover of IBP Inc., as well as litigation rumors surrounding the breakups of both the General Electric Co./Honeywell International Inc. and UAL/United Airlines deals, some have prophesied a new era of more strictly hashed-out deals. On a similar note, some predicted that one-time targets are more likely to become aggressive litigants.
