On June 22, Albertson’s Inc. will finally put the lid on its $13 billion acquisition of American Stores Co. (ASC). That’s according to a spokesman for the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), which has been carefully monitoring the store-divestiture process, particularly in California. “We keep hearing June 22 is the target date-that Albertson’s is pushing to close by the 22nd,” he said.
