Chairman of subprime auto lender Ugly Duckling Corp. Ernest Garcia is prepared to take out the 63.5% of the company he doesn’t already own-if he could secure the financing, that is. “I want to make very clear that I do not have the financing in place yet. In the subprime auto industry it is not easy to find financing,” said Garcia in a phone interview with Mergers & Acquisitions Report. The financing is the sole factor determining whether he makes a bid for the rest of the $80 million market cap, Phoenix, Ariz.-based company, he added.
