Centre Partners has made an undisclosed investment in Stonewall Kitchen

Stonewall Kitchen, headquartered in York, Maine, is a specialty food producer and retailer that makes jam, sauces, crackers, pancake mixes and other food products. The company's leadership team will stay in place, with the addition of Centre operating partner John Stiker, who will take over as CEO.

Private equity firm Centre has invested more than $2 billion in more than 70 deals.  In August, the firm sold Ross Aviation to Carlyle Group (Nasdaq: CG)-backed Landmark Aviation. Last October, the firm invested in Captain D's Seafood Restaurants

Sawaya Segalas & Co. LLC acted as Stonewall's financial adviser.

Other recent food deals include Atlantic Natural Foods LLC's purchase of Lorna Linda canned foods from Kellogg Co. (NYSE: K) in October and TPG Growth's acquisition of Angie's Artisan Treats, also in October. For more on trends in consumer eating habits, see Snack Time.
