Biogen Inc. has tapped a new senior VP of corporate development to work on the $7 billion market cap drug company’s global business development efforts, including M&A. While John Palmer’s title at the company is new, his position was created by melding positions, said the spokeswoman, who declined to elaborate. Palmer joined Biogen, which announced his new appointment last Tuesday, in 1989 as director of business devopment and marketing. His position prior to his latest appointment was senior VP of program management. Before arriving at Biogen, Palmer worked at General Foods Corp. as director of business development and marketing.
