The Research Triangle ACG Chapter held the Carolina’s only Capital Connection on April 4th and 5th at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club on the Duke University campus, in Durham, N.C. More than 50 private equity firms representing over $50 billion under management attended the event, according to Chapter Administrator Debra Michie. “The event was a huge success, with the top middle-market advisory firms in North Carolina and the Southeast focused on growth, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and buyouts,” Michie said. “It was a must-attend event for anyone focused on North Carolina and the broader Southeast as markets for new business opportunities.” A DealSource reception, private equity marketplace, and great panels made it a memorable conference. Economist James Smith, Director of the Center for Business Forecasting at UNC, provided great analysis of the global, national, and Carolina economies. The Capital Connection also featured golf at one of the top-ranked college courses in the nation. “Everyone had a blast golfing and we were thrilled with the event,” Michie said.
