Canaccord Adams, based in Boston, named Jeffrey Hagan managing director of investment banking. Hagan will oversee the financial services firm's West Coast technology practice out of San Francisco.

"We continue to see enormous investment opportunities emanating from smaller, high-growth technology companies, and Jeff's expertise will allow us to build our business in this arena," said Jamie Brown, Canaccord's head of U.S. investment banking, in a release.

Hagan previously worked as managing director and head of West Coast technology banking for Oppenheimer & Co.
