Camber Corp., a consulting and project management firm for the U.S. military,  is set to buy part of Avaya Inc.'s government solutions business

Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Avaya, which provides equipment and software data services for large corporations and government agencies, has agreed to sell its IT professional services consulting group for $100 million. The unit, currently under Avaya Government Solutions, was put up for sale with investment bank Stifel Nicolaus & Co. leading the process.

The deal is expected to close over the course of the next 90 days.

Avaya will retain the Federal product sales and services teams and customers. Camber is currently owned by private equity firm New Mountain Capital, which acquired the Huntsville, Ala.-based company in December 2008.
