Boston private equity firm BV Investment Partners has made an undisclosed investment in TriCore Solutions.

TriCore, headquartered in Norwell, Massachusetts, provides application and infrastructure management services, focusing on resource planning, database platforms, data warehousing and business intelligence services. The company has about 250 customers.

BV is making the acquisition through its eighth fund, which closed with $487 million in commitments in September. The is the firm's third investment from that fund, following deals for the Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing Co., which it bought in July, and the January purchase of INetU. Since the firm was founded in 1983, it has invested more than $2.6 billion in more than 80 companies.

Ropes & Gray served as BV's legal counsel on the deal. Choate Hall & Stewart LLP was TriCore's legal adviser.
