Boston Scientific Corp. (NYSE: BSX) is buying Bard EP, the electrophysiology business of C.R. Bard, for $275 million in cash.

Lowell, Mass.-based Bard EP provides cardiac catheter and recording device technologies. The company will become part of Boston Scientific’s existing electrophysiology business.

Boston Scientific, headquartered in Natick, Mass., expects the acquisition to accelerate the expansion of its electrophysiology business. The company develops medical services. Towards the end of 2012, Boston Scientific acquired two catheter technology companies: Vessix Vascular Inc. and Rhythmia Medical Inc
