Along with lackluster earnings for its second quarter, ANC Rental Corp., which owns the Alamo and National car rental brands, said it wants to sell part or all of itself. But one industry source thinks the company has run out of gas. “ANC is not a good property,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The company has two different business models: National operates out of airports while Alamo is a leisure rental company. “The question is whether these two business models have been merged and operated successfully over the past few years,” he said.
