AT&T wireless phone retailer Spring Mobile has acquired 53 retail store locations from Product Center for an undisclosed amount.

The company says the acquisition allows it to provide services to people in more locations, especially the New York tri-state area. The deal gives Spring stores in New York and Connecticut for the first time.

Salt Lake City-based Spring, a subsidiary of GameStop Corp., sells AT&T wireless devices through 298 locations in 26 states. The company plans to continue to build up its retail footprint.

Product Center is a cell phone retailer that operates locations in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

Other recent retail acquisitions include Neiman Marcus Group Ltd. LLC's purchase of Mytheresa.com, a luxury retail and online business, in September, and Sequential Brands Group's (Nasdaq: SQBG) deal for Galaxy Brand Holdings in August.
