Trescal, which is backed by private equity firm Ardian, has acquired Instrument Calibration Services and Test Equipment Repair Corp.

Both companies are based in Atlanta, Ga., and provide calibration and repair services to measurement and test equipment. Both acquisitions will expand Trescal's geographical footprint and enhance its calibration and repair capabilities in North America.

Ardian, led by founder Dominique Senequier (pictured), bought Trescal in July 2013. Senequier founded Axa Private Equity, which is now known as Ardian, in 1996, after working in insurance. She is also vice president of the supervisory board of luxury brand Hermes International. The Paris-based firm recently closed a $690 million private equity fund

In 2011, the firm picked up a $1.7 billion portfolio of limited partner interests in private equity buyout funds and a portfolio of stakes in companies from Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C). The firm has also recently appointed Tobias Gewolker as a director in the infrastructure team in Paris. Gewolker was previously at DC Advisory and Barclays Capital.

Trescal, headquartered in Rungis, France, announced another deal in October, for SE Laboratories, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based company that provides scientific measurement services. Before it was picked up by Ardian, the company was owned by London private equity firm 3i.
