Apollo Management Holding LP announced plans to buy several stores owned by Wild Oats Markets Inc. The transaction is contingent on the court approval of the acquisition of the chain by its larger rival, Whole Foods Market Inc. Whole Foods, which is attempting to purchase Wild Oats for $595 million, is facing heavy opposition by the Federal Trade Commission.
