AirStrip Technologies has acquired Sense4Baby Inc., which makes a pregnancy monitoring system.

Sense4Baby, headquartered in La Jolla, Calif., develops a wireless fetal and maternal monitoring system that is used for non-stress testing for high-risk pregnancies. The product can track heart rate and contraction patterns. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

San Antonio, Texas-based AirStrip provides mobile technology and data integration services for doctors. The company has raised $40 million in venture capital from Sequoia Capital, Qualcomm Inc. and the Wellcome Trust.

Recent medical device deals include Intuitive Surgical Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ISRG) purchase of Luna Innovations Inc.’s shape-sensing technology, and GSI Group Inc.’s (Nasdaq: GSIG) deal for Jadak Technologies Inc., which develops scanners and other products used by the medical market.
