In February, ACG Pittsburgh welcomed nearly 200 attendees to its 13th Annual Conference on Growth. Under a new and expanded format, guests enjoyed a relaxed networking opportunity while attending the opening reception at the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center the evening before the conference. Following the reception, private equity invitees, sponsors, moderators, and panelists enjoyed a private equity dinner held at Lydia’s in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District. The next day, the conference moved to the Sheraton Station Square and started off with four high-profile breakout sessions covering such topics as “Trends in Private Equity,” “Alternative Financing Solutions,” “Investment Bankers’ Views on the M&A Marketplace,” and “Buyouts From a CEO Perspective.” Panelists and moderators with substantial industry and deal expertise allowed for a very candid and timely flow of information and experiences to the audiences. After lunch, the conference culminated with a presentation by keynote speaker Michael Gibbons, Senior Managing Director and Chairman of Brown Gibbons Lang. Gibbons spoke of the continued growth in the deals market and, in particular, the increasingly global nature that M&A transactions have been taking on in the past year.
