ACG Houston Targets the Energy Sector With Two Blowout Events

In January, ACG Houston and sponsors, including eight service firms and nine investment banks, welcomed more than 300 guests for an energy-focused breakfast with keynote speaker U.S. Secretary of Energy Sam Bodman. Later that evening, more than 400 attendees enjoyed good food and wine while networking at ACG Houston’s Energy Private Equity Marketplace & Wine Tasting. “The strong market dynamics that have characterized the energy industry in recent years have resulted in more investment activity in the sector by private equity investors,” said Colt Luedde, President of ACG Houston and President of GulfStar Group, a Houston-based investment and merchant banking firm. “This heightened level of interest was evident by the participation and support at both our breakfast meeting and our private equity wine tasting event.” Eighteen top energy private equity groups hosted tables of premium wines for tasting at the River Oaks Country Club.
