Aberdeen Asset Management is mourning the loss of Andrew McMenigall (pictured, left), a senior investment manager in the global equity team based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Toby Wallace (pictured, right), a senior relationship manager in its Philadelphia office, who were involved in a fatal cycling accident in Cornwall, England, on July 2.

According to the firm, the pair was on a charity bicycle ride from Land's End to John o'Groats to raise funds for their colleague Kirsten Scott, who lost her battle with cancer in October 2011.

“The fact that they died in such tragic circumstances while trying to help others less fortunate tells you much about their selflessness and humanity,” stated Martin Gilbert, chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management. “This is a terrible time for the company. More importantly our thoughts are with the families of Andrew and Toby. We will be doing everything we can to support them.”
