Yum Brands Inc. (NYSE: YUM), the owner of the KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and the Habit Burger Grill brands, has agreed to buy food technology company Dragontail Systems Ltd.

Dragontail’s software focuses on managing the entire food preparation process from order through delivery.  Its artificial intelligence-based technology automates the kitchen flow combined with the process of dispatching drivers. The technology can also operate with outside food delivery partners.

“With Dragontail, we expect to tap into the power of AI to accelerate and further enhance our delivery technology capabilities, especially at Pizza Hut, and optimize the end-to-end food preparation process,” said Chris Turner, chief financial officer, Yum Brands.

Yum has been actively acquiring software providers. In March, the company acquired Tictuk Technologies and Kvantum Inc.
