YA Group, backed by THL Partners, has acquired the business of Carr Engineering Inc., a Houston-based motor vehicle crash reconstruction and design analysis firm, to expand its accident reconstruction and biomechanics capabilities.
The acquisition strengthens YA Group’s accident reconstruction and biomechanics practice by expanding its technical capabilities, geographic reach, simulation and testing resources, and multidisciplinary service offerings.
Founded more than 40 years ago and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Carr Engineering specializes in motor vehicle crash reconstruction, vehicle design analysis and defect investigations. The firm’s team of more than 25 engineers, animators, and technical specialists analyzes claims involving vehicle dynamics, airbag and electronic stability control systems, accelerator control systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Carr also conducts full-scale vehicle dynamics testing and crash simulations and has developed a proprietary 3D analysis and animation platform.
