Local Favorite Restaurants has acquired Cotton Patch Cafe from Altamont Capital Partners, expanding its portfolio to 99 restaurants across 10 Texas-focused brands.
The transaction brings the comfort-food chain under the ownership of the Dallas-based restaurant group founded by Mike Karns, who will remain founder and free-range creative, while Brandon Coleman III, formerly CEO of Cotton Patch Cafe, has been appointed chief executive officer of Local Favorite Restaurants.
Founded in Texas, Cotton Patch Cafe operates a chain of casual dining restaurants serving scratch-made comfort food inspired by Texas cuisine. The brand has reported six consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales and traffic growth and has focused on value offerings, including its Texas Value Meals. It also received multiple reader-voted dining awards in 2025, reflecting strong customer loyalty across its core Texas markets.
