Gryphon Investors has taken a majority stake in online proctoring company Meazure Learning, which was formerly backed by Eastside Partners. Eastside and Meazure’s management team will continue to hold a stake in the target.

“Gryphon has invested previously in the education sector, and we are excited by the trends we’re seeing in the continued intersection of technology and learning. The increasing consumer preference for digitally driven flexibility has opened up a multi-billion-dollar market opportunity in the academic and professional remote testing spaces.” says Gryphon president and software group co-head Nick Orum, who will join the Meazure board of directors. Private equity firm Gryphon invests in lower middle market businesses in healthcare, software, business services, consumer and industrial growth.

Baird is acting as financial advisor to Gryphon, and Raymond James is the financial advisor to Meazure.  Kirkland & Ellis is serving as legal advisor to Gryphon, and Bradley is acting as legal advisor to Meazure.
