Ferrera Candy Company has agreed to acquire Jelly Belly Candy Company, which was formed in 1869.
Founded in Illinois and family-owned by the Rowland family, Jelly Belly’s signature jelly beans were introduced in 1976. The company distributes its products in more than 60 countries across five continents. The deal will combine Jelly Belly’s over 100 flavors of jelly beans and confections with Ferrara’s portfolio of sugar candies, which includes brands such as Nerds, SweeTarts, Lemonheads and Trolli.
