Aquarion, a provider of water services in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire backed by Eversource Energy, has purchased the Torrington Water Company, a water utility based in Torrington, Conn.

TWC provides water services to Connecticut customers in Torrington as well as parts of Burlington, Harwinton, Litchfield and New Hartford. TWC’s service area expands Aquarion’s footprint in northwestern Connecticut. The deal adds approximately 10,100 customers to Aquarion’s customer base.
