Dextra Partners, a private equity firm focused on the middle market, has hired Lorne Smith as general counsel and chief compliance officer.
In his new role with Dextra, Smith will oversee legal and compliance matters pertaining to Dextra’s investors and investments across all strategies. Smith previously served as general counsel of the founding partners’ prior firm, GoldPoint Partners. Smith worked alongside the founding partners from 2006 until their departure in August 2021. Prior to joining Dextra, Smith served as general counsel of Apogem Capital, which was formed in April 2022 through the merger of GoldPoint with other investment groups by its parent company.
