Bentall GreenOak, a provider of real estate services, has agreed to acquire Metropolitan Real Estate Equity from global investment firm Carlyle Group. The acquisition adds Metropolitan’s integrated primary, secondary and co-investment real estate platform to Bentall GreenOak’s operations, including global real estate investment management advisors.

Sony Calci, CEO of Bentall GreenOak, said: “Bentall GreenOak has always strived to put our customers and investors first by enabling our customers and investors to take advantage of our extensive global investment strategies and opportunities. This led to the acquisition of Metropolitan. The two companies share a positive outlook on the potential for growth in secondary and co-investment opportunities in the commercial real estate market and have integrated this business into our platform. Our commitment to becoming a global leader in the long run has been further strengthened. The two companies are culturally consistent and have a strong relationship with Metropolitan management. We are confident that this transaction will be smooth for both companies.”

BentallGreenOak received legal advice from Akin Gamp and Latham & Watkins represented Carlyle.
