Mergers & Acquisitions names the 2023 Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A, including Kinzie Capital Partners’s Suzanne Yoon.

How did you further your firm’s ESG goals?
More and more, ESG is becoming an essential component of business rather than a “nice to have,” and I believe that we can make a meaningful impact on the world through thoughtful ESG practices. At Kinzie, we leverage a tailored approach that works for our firm and seek to integrate ESG considerations at a culture level and throughout the lifecycle of our investment process.

Over the past year, we have implemented and refined our approach by developing a detailed ESG policy, forming an active ESG taskforce and utilizing an ESG platform for data collection, reporting and insights at the portfolio company level. We also continue to promote and support our employee wellness and community outreach programs, in addition to responsible environmental practices.

How are you advancing the state of women?
I believe that I have an incredible opportunity and obligation to raise the profile of women and serve as a visible example of success in the industry through my engagement with the media, women’s groups, philanthropic endeavors and speaking events. Over the past year, I participated in several speaking engagements and events centered on inspiring and promoting women.

Mentorship and sponsorship of women is also so important, which is why I am active with groups like the Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN) and the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE) that serve as an incredible support system and network for women, especially young professionals looking to advance their careers.
