Audio group Harman International Industries Inc. (NYSE: HAR) has made a deal to buy AMX LLC for $365 million.

Richardson, Texas-based AMX provides control and automation systems, as well as audio and video switching and distributing services. The company's technology is used in conference rooms, hotels, classrooms, command centers, entertainment venues and broadcast facilities.

AMX's video distribution hardware and software will help strengthen Harman's professional portfolio, says Blake Augsburger, Harman's president.

Harman, in April 2013, bought IOnRoad Technologies Ltd., a company that develops vehicle safety systems.

The company also bought Duran Audio BV, which develops audio technology products, in October.

In another recent audio deal, Dolby Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: DLB) agreed to buy Doremi Labs for about $93 million in February.
