Large cap supermarket and distribution company Fleming Co. Inc. recently tapped Matt Hildreth as senior VP of finance and treasurer. Hildreth, a former white-shoe banker from J.P. Morgan Chase, who headed its transportation and logistics group, arrived at $14 billion market cap Fleming two weeks ago. He works with two finance professionals in the company’s treasury department, in addition to an associate-level M&A pro responsible for “crunching the numbers,” Hildreth said. He expects to hire another M&A pro who will assist him. Hildreth will guide Fleming’s equity and debt finance-raising strategies, which include senior-secured, convertible and bank debt.
