Paint maker Valspar Corp. (NYSE: VAL) is buying Inver Holding S.r.l., a coatings manufacturer.

Bologna, Italy-based Inver specializes in liquid and powder coatings and resins used for off-road equipment, aluminum windows and auto parts. The company’s customers are primarily in United Kingdom, France, Germany and Poland. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Valspar, headquartered in Minneapolis, is making the acquisition as part of its plan to grow its coatings business. The company’s brands include Valspar Signature, Duramax, PlastiKote, Guardsman and Quikrete Coatings.
