Turf Ventures' management has taken the company over from private equity firm Evolution Capital Partners.
Turf, headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, distributes fertilizers, fungicides and other chemicals to the professional turf industry. The recapitalization was led by CEO Brian Baker.
The exit closes out Evolution Investments I, a vintage 2006 fund. The Cleveland-based private equity firm recently invested in communications company ROI Networks, in September.
