Web and email archiving service Smarsh purchased Torrance, Calif.-based AdvisorSquare from security software maker Symantec Corp.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is the second deal for Smarsh this year. The Portland, Ore.-based firm picked up a web-archiving startup, Perpetually LLC, in May for an undisclosed price.

AdvisorSquare, a provider of website tools designed for financial service professionals, will be folded into Smarsh’s portfolio of products, which include website design, hosting, aggregation and compliance services.

Andrew Apfelberg of Los Angeles law firm Greenberg Glusker handled legal matters for Smarsh.
