Riverside Co.-backed Spectrio has purchased digital sign maker Vital Media for an undisclosed amount.

Vital Media provides digital signage for more than 1,700 customers, mostly in the automotive retail sector. Its products include graphic screens and waiting room TV messages. In addition to digital signs, Spectrio records digital messages for when people are on hold.

“The addition of Vital Media strengthens Spectrio’s position in the automotive space, where we anticipate continued growth,” says Riverside partner Peter Tsang. Vital Media is Spectrio’s third add-on purchase including the acquisition of Message On Hold Plus in April 2015. Riverside invested in Spectrio in October 2014.

Riverside Co. has been off to a busy start in 2016, announcing four acquisitions including: The Dermatology Group of New Jersey; Kasasa by BancVue; Prima Eye Group; and SafeTec Compliance Systems.
