Capital One Bank — The New York lender appointed Tom Savage as senior vice president. Savage, based in Philadelphia, will be responsible for overseeing capital provided to strategic acquirers and middle-market companies based in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. Savage joins from TD Bank, where he spent eight years in the corporate banking group. Before that, he was also a principal for nine years at private equity firm Spire Capital. Other companies he has worked at include Fleet Bank, GE Capital and National Westminster Bank USA.


Dresner Partners — The Chicago investment bank has hired Patrick Cavanagh (pictured) as a managing director and leader of the firm's consumer products team. Cavanagh joins Dresner Partners from Scott Macon Ltd., where he worked for more than seven years on middle-market transactions across a variety of sectors, including food and beverage, automotive, business services, chemicals, health care and media.  Prior to that, he was a managing director at ARG Advisors LLC, and a vice president at investment bank Valufinder Group Inc.  Cavanagh was also vice president, of mergers and acquisitions at Citigroup Capital Strategies.


Evercore Partners (NYSE: EVR) — The New York investment bank enlists Jay Chandler as a senior managing director in the equity capital markets group. Chandler was most recently head of capital markets for Liquidnet, one of the world’s leading equity block trading networks. Prior to Liquidnet, he spent 26 years with Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Merrill Lynch (NYSE: BAC).


Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLPMarian Lee joined the firm's Washington office as a partner. Formerly with King & Spalding LLP, she will continue her U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulatory and compliance practice.


Haskell & White — The Irvine, California and San Diego-based accounting firm has promoted Luigi Ramirez to in-charge associate, and Tracy Cuculic McLaughlin to audit manager. Ramirez joined the Irvine office as a staff accountant, while McLaughlin has been with Haskell & White for four years, specializing in the real estate. 


Houlihan Lokey — The Los Angeles investment bank has opened an office in Sydney, Australia. At the helm is Nicholas Rowe, Oscar Ludwigson, and David Tozer. Each of the bankers jumped over from ABN AMRO and, before that, Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc. The new office will consist of four main operations, including corporate finance, financial restructuring, financial advisory services and strategic consulting.


Oak Hill Capital Management — The private equity firm brought in Steven Puccinelli as a partner. Puccinelli, a 30-year M&A veteran, most recently served as a managing director at Investcorp International Inc. There, he served as head of private equity for North America and Europe. Puccinelli will focus primarily on Oak Hill Capital’s investment activity in the services sector. 


UBS Group AG— The Zurich-based financial services company has tapped Martin Kesselring from Morgan Stanley to lead corporate client services. The move marks a return to UBS for Kesselring, who was was co-head of investment banking Switzerland at UBS from 2004 to 2007. While at Morgan Stanley, he lead the Swiss branch.
