Allegiance Capital— David Lonsdale (pictured), president of the Dallas private equity firm, is resigning. Lonsdale announced that he would be selling his stock back to Allegiance and pursue other interests. Terms of the sale of his stock were not disclosed. He served with the financial sponsor for roughly 10 years. As co-owner of Allegiance, Lonsdale helped grow the firm to more than 50 people, with additional offices in New York and Chicago.
Genstar Capital — The private equity firm appointed Harry Totonis to the firm’s strategic advisory board. Totonis, who began his career with a 15-year stay at Booz Allen & Hamilton, most recently served as CEO of Surescripts. He also served as group executive at MasterCard Worldwide from 2004 to 2009 and CEO of Kinexus from 2000 to 2004.
Guggenheim Securities LLC — Matt Bissonette jumped from Deutsche Bank AG to the Chicago-based financial services firm as managing director. He will join the New York office to work on structured products transactions with a focus on esoteric asset-backed securities. Bissonette specializes in telecommunications infrastructure securitization.
H.C. Wainwright & Co. LLC — The New York investment bank hired Aileen Gibbons, Sean Hagerty and Jeffery Smith as vice presidents. Separately, it tapped Swayampakula Ramakanth as a managing director.
Jackson Lewis PC — Paul Friedman was recently named a shareholder at the White Plains, New York lawfirm. Previously a member of Epstein Becker & Green PC’s employee benefits practice, Friedman brings to Jackson Lewis more than 30 years of experience in bankruptcy litigation.
Jones Day — Gayle Berne has joined the New York headquarters’ of the law firm as of counsel within the banking and finance practice. She arrives from Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP.
K&L Gates LLP — The law firm has added Henry Shin as a partner in its Seoul, South Korea, office. Shin, who joins K&L Gates from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, will practice out of the firm’s New York headquarters before moving to Korea once he is registered as a foreign legal consultant. Shin focuses his practice on mergers, acquisitions, international finance and construction projects. He advises private equity firms as well as corporate acquirers.
Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP — Shawn Atkinson is slated to join the London law office as a partner. He was previously with Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, where he was co-chairman of the venture capital, cross-border and the central and eastern Europe groups.
RCS Capital Corp.— The New York investment firm hired Andrew Melnick as chief litigation counsel. Melnick joins from New York law firm Schindler Cohen & Hochman LLP, where he was a partner. He previously worked at UBS AG from 2003 to 2009 and, before that, Kaye Scholer LLP.
Rothschild Group — Paolo Scaroni has been named deputy chairman of the London investment bank and advisory firm, effective July 1. Scaroni was previously CEO of Italian oil and gas company Eni SpA since May 2005. Before that, he was with Pilkington plc from 1996 until May 2002. He has held a number of leadership positions over the years at various companies, including Saint-Gobain SA, Techint and SIV, which is a joint venture between Techint and Pilkington.
