In this position, he will lead Duff & Phelps' strategy and corporate development activities. Prior to joining the firm, he spent 13 years at Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) where he went on to serve as chief operating officer of Citi Alternative Investments, a hedge fund group. Before that, he was at enterprise software company Atomica Corp. Earlier in his career, Kim worked as an associate in the fixed income division at Lehman Brothers.

Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP— Thomas Moers Mayer, a partner at the New York law firm, has been appointed to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules in Washington, D.C. At Kramer Levin, Mayer’s practice has influenced several bankruptcy cases, including a $2.1 billion Residential Capital bankruptcy deal and Patriot Coal, the third largest bankruptcy in 2012. Mayer was appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts.
Mason Wells — The Milwaukee private equity firm tapped Asif Naseem as an executive operating partner. Naseem most recently served as vice president, communications global business unit at Oracle Corp. (NYSE: ORCL). Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of GoAhead Software, a software platform company that was acquired by Oracle in 2011.
Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy LLP — Paul Ng has returned to the New York law firm as a partner. Based in Singapore, Ng will once again work within Milbank's transportation and space practice. He began his career at Milbank as an associate and went on to join Stephenson Harwood LLP, also in Singapore, where he was global head of aviation finance.
North Street Global — The New York financial services firm brought in Kira Bazile as president. Bazile, a hedge fund industry veteran for more than 17 years, will head business development for North Street's fund administration platform, capital introductions group and global markets division. Most recently, she was a managing director at fund services firm BTIG. She began her career at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE: GS) in 1997 and proceeded to work at Deutsche Bank (NYSE: DB) for eight years where she helped expand the bank's financing and derivatives segment.
Reed Smith LLP — The Pittsburgh law firm enlists Gary Johnson as a partner for the Houston energy and natural resources industry group. Johnson previously held positions at Burleson LLP, where he was a partner, as well as Shore Freeman Mills PC. He also served as senior vice president of Citation Oil & Gas Corp. in Houston for 13 years.
REN Legal — The London law firm hired partner Laurence Applegate and senior associate Adam Longney. Applegate, previously with McDermott Will & Emery, focuses on corporate real estate, private equity and corporate finance. Longney, who joins from Berwin Leighton Paisner, specializes in domestic and international financing and leasing transactions in the aviation and rail industries.
