3i Group plc — The London investment management firm announced a trio of new hires: Christoph Rinnert, Michael Bernard and Rutger Vos. Each will work between Europe and North America. Rinnert, who joins from Rothschild, will be a part of the Frankfurt team as a senior associate, while Bernard, a Morgan Stanley veteran, works as an associate out of 3i's New York office. Vos joins 3i from JPMorgan Chase & Co. Based in Amsterdam, he will cover Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Ballard Spahr — The Philadelphia law firm hired John Devine as of counsel. Before joining the firm, Devine was the chief legal officer for PharmaCo Ventures where he helped develop and implement an ancillary pharmaceutical and laboratory services business. He also successfully promoted the company’s business model before state regulatory agencies.
Brown Gibbons Lang & Co. — The Cleveland-based investment bank has formed a group within the real estate advisory practice. The National Multifamily Group will operate through Brown Gibbons Lang Real Estate Partners and provide a variety of services. This includes providing multifamily real estate owners, investors and developers with research and analytic data, as well as portfolio asset sales, recapitalization programs and structured finance. Managing directors William Montana and Christopher Sackley are overseeing the unit out of Brown Gibbons Lang's Chicago office.
Brown Rudnick LLP — Todd Emmerman has joined the New York law firm as a partner. He will work within the corporate practice group. Mr. Emmerman brings with him more than 25-year veteran, Emmerman specializes in counseling public and private companies on M&A, deal financings and other types of transactions. Previously, he was formerly a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
Cantor Fitzgerald LP — The New York financial services firm has named Steven Bisgay (pictured) chief financial officer. Bisgay replaces Douglas Barnard, who is set to retire at the end of March 2015. Barnard has been CFO for nine years. Bisgay was most recently CFO at KCG Holdings Inc. and, prior to that, CFO at Knight Capital Group Inc.
Duke Street Capital — The London private equity firm hired Stuart McMinnies from investment management firm 3i Group plc as a partner. Previously, Stuart was senior partner at 3i with primary focus on the UK mid-market.
Greenhill & Co Inc. — The New York-based investment bank has tapped Jon Gidney as managing director. Based in Sydney, Australia, Gidney served previously as vice-chair of investment banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Australia office. Separately, Greenhill enlisted Bryce Dakin as managing director in San Francisco, focusing on the semiconductor and electronics industries. Dakin was formerly a managing director at the investment banking unit of GCA Savvian Corp.
Withers Bergman — The New York law firm brought in Bruce Hood as partner. Hood specializes in international, real estate, corporate and partnership taxation, including experience in The Netherlands and South America. Hood was previously with Wiggin and Dana. His hiring continues the firm's expansion abroad. In 2014, Withers Bergman tapped special counsel Corrado Manuali to head its Italian desk.
