Monroe Capital has hired four origination professionals, the Chicago-based investment firm said in a statement. The new team members will be active on leveraged loan deals.

The firm added Thomas Karle as a managing director responsible for origination in the Eastern U.S. Karle was most recently a managing director responsible for new business origination at MFC Capital Funding. He also served with Harris/Bank of Montreal’s asset-based lending group.

Joining Karle with the title of managing director is Laura M. Kraus, who will oversee origination in the Midwest. She was most recently a director with MFC Capital Funding, working in new business origination. She previously served with JPMorgan, focusing on syndication of asset-based deals in the large and middle-market loan group.

Also joining Monroe are Lori Potter, a veteran of GE Capital and GMAC Structured Finance who will oversee origination in the Southeast, and Cameron S. Fleming, who will be responsible for origination in the New York City area. Fleming was most recently a director of sourcing for Golden Tree Asset Management.

Monroe Capital focuses on senior and junior debt and equity coinvestments to middle-market companies in the U.S. and Canada.
