Huron Capital-backed Hughes Associates and the RJA Group have merged.
RJA, headquartered in Chicago, is the parent company of Rolf Jensen & Associates , which provides fire and protection design, emergency management, and building safety-plan consulting services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Baltimore, Maryland-based Hughes is a fire, protection and life safety engineering and consulting company.
Combined, the companies will be a leading engineering services company for the fire protection industry. Both groups will continue operating under their respective brands.
Detroit-based Huron invested in Hughes in May 2011. Recently, the firm invested in American Auto Auction Group, which provides dealer-to-dealer auction car auction services.
