Some last lingering assets of Warren Buffett’s Fruit of the Loom Ltd. portfolio company (FOL) are about to be sold-but they won’t be used to make underwear. In the tattered domestic textile market, six shuttered FOL factories are up for sale. Buffett didn’t want those properties when he bought Bowling Green, KY-based FOL on April 30. An auction of the assets is scheduled for Oct. 2 and proceeds from the auction will go to creditors. The FOL Liquidation Trust was set up by the bankruptcy court to dispose of any remaining assets.
