Privately held Dresser Inc. is going on the block and is eliciting interest, as at least one source says a number of financial and strategic buyers have made inquiries. The company announced on Sept. 6 it is exploring options with Morgan Stanley and UBS as its advisers. Steve Trauber, global head of the energy investment banking group at UBS, is one of the bankers working with Dresser.
