Copal Partners, an India-based provider of outsourced research and analytics, hired Rikard af Ekenstam as European managing director.
Af Ekenstam was previously head of new markets client coverage at ABN Amro. Before assuming this role at ABN Amro, he was a director with the firms TMT investment banking unit. In his new position, he will attempt to grow the companys presence in Europe.
In a statement, Rishi Khosla, Copal Partners co-founder and chief executive officer, said Rikards deep knowledge of financial services and experience in leading an origination team will be a tremendous asset.
The firm was founded in 2002. Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and Citibank all hold minority positions in the company.
