Clariant International AG has purchased Bayink, a nano-silver ink technology company, from the Bayer Group.

Nano-silver inks can be printed on polymers, glass or silicon and are used for printed circuit boards, radio frequency identification devices or solar panels.

The deal includes all patents and materials related to the technology. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Clariant is a specialty chemical company based in Muttenz, Siwtzerland. In January the company agreed to buy CRM International SAS, a company that manufactures natural ingredients for the personal-care industry.

The company sold off three of its businesses to private equity firm SK Capital Partners in December for $500 million. It plans to sell off two more divisions by the end of 2013.
