In this week’s roundup of middle-market hirings and promotions, highlights include: Gretchen Perkins’ joining Avance Investment; Heather Madland’s getting promoted at Huron Capital; and Bell Zhong’s getting hired by Raymond James.

Joshua Brody has joined law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP as a partner where he is focusing on bankruptcies and restructuring. He was previously with Jones Day.

Matthew Burke has been promoted to managing directorat Greenbriar Equity Group. He joined the PE firm in 2010.

Derrick Cephas was hired by law firm Squire Patton Boggs. He was most recently with Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP and focuses on financial regulations.

Elizabeth de Saint-Aignan was hired by Sun Capital Partners as a managing director where she is focusing on the technology sector. She was previously with Jump Capital and TA Associates.

Kelly Griffin has joined Sun Capital Partners as a managing director and head of investor relations. She was previously with Caxton Associates LP.

Heather Madland has been promoted from principal to partner, head of business Development at Huron Capital.  She joined the firm in 2013.

Gretchen Perkins (pictured) has joined private equity firm Avance Investment Management LLC as a partner. She will be responsible for sourcing investment opportunities both for the firm and for portfolio companies. Avance is a new firm, with offices in New York and Miami, that focuses on the consumer and services sector. Perkins previously focuses on business development at Huron Capital.

Guillaume Petitgas has joined Oppenheimer & Co. as a managing director. He was previously with HSBC and focuses on the debt capital markets.

Navneeta Rekhi was hired by Latham & Watkins as a partner to focus on private equity and M&A. She was most recently with Kirkland & Ellis.

Reinhard Koester has joined investment bank Broadhaven Capital Partners as a partner where he is focusing on the financial services sector. He was previously with Houlihan Lokey.

Michael Smith was hired by law firm Nixon Peabody as a partner. He focuses on cross-border M&A.

Prosper Vignone has joined private equity firm Siris as an investment principal. He was previously vice President and head of business development for IBM global markets.

Bell Zhong was hired by Raymond James as a managing director. He was most recently with J.P. Morgan Securities and focuses on the biotechnology sector.
