Surplus Solutions, a portfolio company of NMS Capital, has acquired DCM BioServices, a Frederick, Md.-based provider of laboratory automation maintenance, repair, technical support and integration services.

The acquisition strengthens Surplus Solutions’ equipment lifecycle management platform by adding specialized technical service capabilities, enabling the company to offer customers broader support across the lifecycle of laboratory automation and liquid handling equipment. Founded in 2011, DCM BioServices provides field service, preventive maintenance, repair, technical support and integration services for laboratory automation equipment used by biotechnology, pharmaceutical and academic research organizations. The company services more than 3,000 instruments across more than 200 laboratories nationwide. Its service agreements are designed to maximize instrument uptime and extend equipment life.
