Sunrise Produce, a southern California-based wholesale produce distributor and backed by Investcorp, has acquired Family Tree Produce, a family- and minority-owned produce distributor that has served the region for more than 50 years.
The acquisition expands Sunrise’s sourcing and distribution capabilities, making it the largest produce distributor in Anaheim and further advancing its growth strategy across Southern California. The deal was announced by the companies. Founded in 1975 by Fidel Guzman after immigrating from Mexico, Family Tree Produce has built a longstanding presence in southern California’s wholesale produce market. The company supplies a broad range of customers, including major organizations such as Disneyland and Costco, and has earned a reputation for serving the region’s foodservice and retail sectors for five decades.
