Advent has agreed to acquire Japan Wellbeing Corp. from MBK Partners, marking the private equity firm’s first investment in Japan following the opening of its Tokyo office.

The acquisition underscores Advent’s strategy of expanding its global healthcare platform into Japan’s rapidly growing home care market, driven by the country’s aging population. JWB is one of Japan’s largest integrated home care providers, operating more than 1,100 care locations across the country and serving approximately 110,000 users each month. Formed through the combination of Tsukui Corp., a day care provider founded in 1969, and Soyokaze, a short-stay operator, the company offers a broad range of services including day care, short-stay residential care, group homes, in-home nursing and care management.
